GParted Live 0.16.1-1 Stable Release

The GParted team is proud to announce a well-tested, stable release of
          GParted Live.

This release includes another critical bug fix for a potential crash
that might cause loss of data while moving or copying a partition. We
strongly recommend that all users of GParted Live 0.15.0-x and
0.16.0-x upgrade to GParted Live 0.16.1-1 to avoid data loss.

Items of note include:

Avoid another crash in GParted when moving or copying partitions

Based on the Debian Sid repository (as of 2013/May/1)

In an effort to ensure the reliability and integrity of this release,
we have conducted over 200 successful tests. These tests included
moves, copies, creates, labels, new UUIDs, growing, shrinking, and
deleting partitions containing each type of file system.

Special thanks goes to Mike Fleetwood, Phillip Susi, and Steven Shiau
for their timely efforts to create this stable release.

In an effort to ensure the reliability and integrity of GParted, this
release has undergone more intensive reviews and additional testing on
          multiple GNU/Linux distributions.

This release includes another critical bug fix for a potential crash
that might cause loss of data while moving or copying a partition. We
strongly recommend that all users of GParted 0.15.0 and 0.16.0 upgrade
to GParted 0.16.1 to avoid data loss.

Key changes include:

Avoid another crash in GParted when moving or copying partitions

Fix GParted doesn't compile on RHEL / CentOS 5.9

Possible thread timing issue with GParted 0.16.0

Since the release of GParted 0.16.0, we have discovered another
potential issue with timing and multiple threads. This issue appears
to occur on older GNU/Linux distributions. In fact the issue was not
apparent in our testing of GParted 0.16.0 on recent distros.

For more details see Bug 695279 -
GParted doesn't compile on RHEL / CentOS 5.9.

As a precaution we plan to keep GParted Live 0.16.0-1 in the testing
directory while we work towards a fix for this newly identified
          issue.

Until this problem is resolved we continue to advise using the last
stable release of GParted Live, which is GParted
          Live 0.14.1-6.

This release of GParted includes a critical bug fix for a crash that
might cause loss of data while moving or copying a partition. We
strongly recommend that all users of GParted 0.15.0 upgrade to GParted
0.16.0 to avoid data loss. Also included are bug fixes, enhancements
          and language translation updates.

Key changes include:

Avoid crash in GParted when moving or copying partitions

Fix GParted scans forever blank disk in virtual machine

Add support for f2fs file system

Avoid Using GParted 0.15.0 for Partition Moves, Resizes, Copies and Checks

We are investigating reports of intermittent crashes with GParted
          0.15.0.
See
          Bug
697727 - Segfault in livecd Gparted v 0.15.0-3 when copying
          partition.

The risk of LOSS of DATA is highest when performing
partition moves, resizes, copies, and checks. As such we recommend
using GParted 0.14.1 for all move, resize, copy, and check
          operations.

Other operations such as create, delete, format, label, set UUID, and
delete might also crash, but these should not result in unexpected
data loss, and the operation can be repeated.

Until this problem is resolved we advise using the last stable release
          of GParted Live, which
          is GParted
          Live 0.14.1-6.

We highly recommend that you BACKUP your DATA before
          using any partitioning tool.
